I have been fortunate to win two giveaways since I have been blogging, and just like you should write a thank you note when you receive a gift, I encourage you if you win a blog giveaway to write up a short post about the generous blog hostess who provided it to you, just as I have here.
Some other great blog community etiquette to follow? Try...
- When joining a blog hop or linky, always be sure to at least visit the blog listed before and after yours... this way, everyone gets some linky love!
- When you do visit blogs through a linky or hop, leave genuine comments. I can always tell when someone has just left a vague comment, hoping for a quick return or follow. I can tell when you didn't really read the post.
- Take one post a month or every other month to really share about a blog that you found that you love. Why do you love it? What does it provide for you? (homeschool advice, inspiration, great recipes, humor?) People will come to you if you provide good content, but they will flock to you if you are generous enough to direct them to other's good content. Some of my very favorite blogs I have found through others recommending them through a blog post and not just a list in the sidebar.

marissa, I love blog hops but always see how the "early bird" gets the most visits...doing the ones before and after you ensure that everyone participating gets some visitors :-) The champagne cake scented candle really is very lovely! Most people don't like music on blogs but most everyone comments how they love the Pride and Prejudice music and "don't mind this one" ;-) Look forward to visiting more!
